Carpe Vegan is the story of Nikita and Jeff Jerrel, a married couple in Atlanta who commit to eating a plant-based diet for 12 months in the hopes of improving their poor health. Nikita was a U.S. Olympic fencer in 1996 and Jeff spent his youth playing professional golf all over the world, competing in many PGA Tour events and international golf tournaments. Prior to their vegan journey, Nikita and Jeff ate a standard American diet, which included meat, dairy, seafood and eggs. However, this lifestyle contributed to chronic diseases and weight gain over the years. Nikita and Jeff now want to take back their health by changing the food that they eat. In the process, Nikita and Jeff inspire others to change their lives by making healthier, more meaningful and compassionate food choices.
